On Dutch National TV: Ludo Baauw, Founding Partner of DEC-Alliance, on Buitenhof

Digital supply security: the word of the day! On behalf of the Open Cloud Alliance, Ludo Baauw, Founding Partner of DEC-Alliance, appeared on Buitenhof, the leading current affairs programme on Dutch national television (NPO 1), to explain why it is essential.
The conversation naturally turned to DigiD, which will no doubt be the subject of much debate in the coming weeks. But it was also an opportunity to extend a hand to the government on behalf of the seven Founding Partners of the OCA: Previder, Nebul, Uniserver, Info Support, Intermax, Centric and KPN.
Not because it is easy to "just run it in the Netherlands", but because we all understand why reliable platforms are essential to our society. You simply want as little risk as possible — especially now that geopolitical risk has been added to the mix.
So the motto is: spread your essential applications across multiple providers. If something goes wrong, you always have a "plan B" — ready and already warmed up.
Then we never again need to panic about questions such as "will this company be taken over or not?", "can they browse through our most sensitive data?" or "can someone press a red button?"
No, it is not perfect yet. No, we are not hyperscalers. And no, the big players do not have everything "perfectly in order, in a way you could never keep up with". What is certain is that they are not 100% Dutch or European. Sometimes that matters a great deal. Just to be sure.
